POS system in Islamabad and Rawalpindi: Markaz to Bahria Town

A POS system in Islamabad or Rawalpindi should print the right tax line (sales tax on services in the capital is collected federally; goods carry FBR sales tax), integrate with the FBR where required, keep billing through load shedding, take delivery-app orders at the counter, and show every outlet on one phone. Operix sets it up online from Karachi.

POS system in Islamabad and Rawalpindi: Markaz to Bahria Town

Your café is in F-7 Markaz, Kohsar Market or F-10; your restaurant is in Blue Area or at Centaurus; your boutique is at Giga Mall; your pharmacy is in E-11 or Bahria Town. The counter is quiet on a Monday afternoon and overwhelmed on a Friday night when families drive in from Rawalpindi. The staff change often, the internet drops in the evenings, and the owner is in a different sector altogether. The POS has to hold the counter on its own.

What a POS system in Islamabad must do

  • Bill fast on a touch screen, with the day closed by cash, card, JazzCash, EasyPaisa and bank transfer.
  • Keep billing when the internet or the power goes, and sync later.
  • Print the right tax line for goods and for services.
  • Take delivery-app orders into the same queue as walk-in sales.
  • Show the owner every outlet's sales, stock and cash on a phone.

Tax on the bill in the capital

Islamabad is different from Karachi and Lahore. There, sales tax on services is provincial; in Islamabad it is collected federally. Goods sold at a shop carry FBR sales tax, and the tax rules decide which retailers must integrate their POS with the FBR system. The POS should print the right line for each kind of sale and keep the monthly summary. Whether your café, salon or shop falls under which rule: confirm with your tax adviser. Our FBR POS integration guide explains what integration means in practice.

Rawalpindi: Saddar, Commercial Market and Bahria

Next door in Rawalpindi the trade is older and busier: Saddar, Commercial Market in Satellite Town, and the wholesale lanes of Raja Bazaar. Shops here often run a retail counter and a wholesale ledger with udhaar to smaller shops. The POS should handle both: fast retail billing, and credit sales by customer with recoveries tracked. Bahria Town and DHA on the Rawalpindi side have cafés and pharmacies that are often the second branch of an Islamabad outlet, so branch reporting matters from the first day.

Pharmacies and expiry

A pharmacy in E-11 or Bahria sells by pack and strip, searches by generic name, and must know which batch is on the shelf and when it expires. Supplier returns go back by batch. Our pharmacy software guide explains batch and expiry in detail, and the same screens serve a pharmacy counter in Saddar.

Load shedding and the evening internet

The counter keeps billing on the local machine when the connection drops and syncs when it returns, with no missing receipts. Put the billing PC and the printer on a UPS. In the demo, switch the internet off and bill three sales; if the seller hesitates, that tells you enough.

  1. Send the item list

Menu or stock list with prices, as a sheet or a photo of the rate list; we load it.

  2. Buy the hardware locally

A billing PC or tablet, thermal printer, barcode scanner for shops, and a UPS, from any computer market in Islamabad or Rawalpindi.

  3. Join the setup call

We install over screen share, print a test bill and connect the card machine's end-of-day total to the shift closing.

  4. Train the cashiers on video

On the live system in Urdu or English; we record the session for staff who join later.

  5. Close the first week with us

Send each night's shift closing; we check it against card and delivery-app settlements and fix any mismatch.

Set up online from Karachi

Operix is in Karachi and has no office in Islamabad. Setup, training and support happen online, with a visit when the project needs one. The restaurant system you can try is Cheesy Bite: online ordering, a staff dashboard and the POS on one set of orders. Questions people ask

Is sales tax on services in Islamabad the same as in Lahore?

No. In Lahore it is provincial, administered by the Punjab Revenue Authority; in Islamabad sales tax on services is collected federally. Which rate and rule applies to your business: confirm with your tax adviser.

Can the POS run a café in F-7 and a branch in Bahria Town together?

Yes. Each branch has its own stock, cash and staff logins, and the owner sees both on one phone. Stock transfers between them are recorded at both ends.

Does it work for a pharmacy with batches and expiry?

Yes. Each medicine is held by batch and expiry, sold from a chosen batch, and returned to the supplier by batch, with a report of stock expiring soon.

Do you have an office in Islamabad?

No. Operix is in Karachi. Islamabad and Rawalpindi clients are set up and trained online, with a visit when the project needs one.

How much does a POS cost in Islamabad?
